The Memorial Trout Lakes - REOPEN

Following extensive renovations to multiple historic lakes on the estate, the Memorial Fishing Lakes at Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire, are open to the public for trout fishing.

 

Originally conceived over 200 years ago by the country's greatest landscape architect, Capability Brown, his plans have been finally realised in line with the tercentenary of his birth.

The fishery is made up of two one acre lakes.

Membership is £350 per year.

Day Tickets are £25 and have a limit of 2 fish

Fish Stocks

This truly is a most stunning location to angle with Belvoir Castle as a back drop. The lakes have been stocked with Brown, Rainbow and Tiger Trout between 1.5 and 14lb.

Site Specific Rules

Catch and return is allowed if barbless hooks are used.

 

You must book in prior to fishing.

Really enjoyed the morning fishing.was a bit difficult getting fish over weed around the pond .bigger landing net next time 😀

Both caught on Diawl nymph, fished quite fast, nice fish in good condition on the lower lake. Upper lake very low water (1ft + below outlet pipes) with heavy weed and not really fishable. Why keep extracting water? Currently no flow through the lakes.

Pleasant day's fishing, reasonable number of fish moving. Fish caught on Damsel Nymph, missed a number of fish all on the same fly.
