Fly-fishing for Rainbow Trout, in idyllic surroundings in the grounds of
Belvoir castle

Following extensive renovations to multiple historic lakes on the estate, the Memorial Fishing Lakes at Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire, are finally open to the public. Originally conceived over 200 years ago by country’s greatest landscape architect, Capability Brown, his plans have just been finally realised in line with the tercentenary of his birth.

The lakes have been stocked with 300 stunning Belleau Bridge rainbow trout between 1.5 and 6lbs in weight. A small number of larger brown and tiger trout are also present in both fishing lakes.

The lakes are open for day ticket fishing all year round– A full day ticket with a two fish limit is £27.50 and an evening / half day ticket with a one fish limit is £16.50. Catch and release is permitted after bag limit is reached.
