FEED, FEEDING & NUTRITION
Feed Boilies

We are very happy to be able to offer a range of feed boilies designed to improve your stocks growth and health. These feed boilies are the culmination of many years working with Gary Bayse to formulate and test boilie mixes that offer the fish everything they require to maintain optimal growth and health through out the year.

There are two versions of the feed boilie:

The Grower
This feed has been developed to target the carp in your fishery and is available in two sizes 15mm and 20mm. Other sizes are available via special order.
The boilie has a full nutritional profile offering the carp a good diet they will grow well on.
The boilie has been subtly flavoured with a combination of sweetcorn and banana that the fish love.
The grower boilie is £5.00 per kg plus delivery.

Winter Boilie
The winter boilie has undergone significant testing and the use of whole maize products has made an easy to digest source of nutrition for the winter months.
The same sizes and flavours are available in this feed.
The winter boilie is £4.00 per kg delivered.

Medicated Boilies
We can also produce boilies that contain our immune boost formulas, garlic extracts to help with parasite loadings and other available health promoting agents as special orders.
Bulk orders would attract good discounts.
In Feed Immune Boosters

These products active ingredient is classified as a bioflavonoid which is the result of a compound extraction process from citrus fruit pulp combined with an immunostimulant, a yeast based glucan. It has a two-phased approach; reduces the bacterial loading and stimulates the immune system at the same time.
This is a two stage feeding program:

Booster 1
Use Booster 1 at a rate of 8 grams per kg of feed.
Booster 1 should be feed for a 2 week period.
To add the booster to pelleted feed please follow these simple instructions.
1. Remove all dust from pelleted feed prior to coating
2. Add the appropriate quantity of product to the clean pellets and mix thoroughly
3. Add vegetable oil to the pellets and mix thoroughly to fix the immune booster to the pellets.
4. I tend to mix the pellets and immune booster in 10kg batches in a feed bag. I use approximately 50ml of sunflower oil to bind the product to the pellets.

Booster 2
Use Booster 2 at a rate of 2.5 grams per kg of feed.
Booster 1 should be feed for up to six weeks.
To add the booster to pelleted feed please follow these simple instructions.
5. Remove all dust from pelleted feed prior to coating
6. Add the appropriate quantity of product to the clean pellets and mix thoroughly
7. Add vegetable oil to the pellets and mix thoroughly to fix the immune booster to the pellets.
8. I tend to mix the pellets and immune booster in 10kg batches in a feed bag. I use approximately 50ml of sunflower oil to bind the product to the pellets.

The Booster 2 can also be used on its own as a general health supplement for spring feeding, after spawning or if your fish are stressed or below par.

Whole Grain Supplementary Feed Mixes

We are now offering two whole grain fish feed mixes for supplementary feeding. These mixes are ideal to help spare the valuable protein in your fish’s diet, facilitating quicker growth and healthier stock.
They are not designed to be used as a whole diet.

The mixes can be fed soaked or cooked (cooking increases the food value of the grains). The soaking /cooking of the grains increases the weight of the product 2 fold. So if you buy a tonne dry weight you will feed 2 tonnes wet weight.

Mix one includes wheat, barley, oats and kibbled maize.
The cost of this mix is £550.00 per tonne delivered.
Mix two includes wheat and kibbled maize.
The cost of this mix is £500.00 per tonne delivered.
We have used these on our fisheries & on the fish farm for many years and have had some great results.

Carp Clay

We have been working hard over the last few years to improve our fish stocks in our fisheries and fish farm. One area that we have been closely looking at is skin, scale and fin quality. Our research has led us to a very special type of clay regularly used by top koi breeders and keepers.

The clay has a very high mineral and trace element profile and can really help the condition and quality of your stock.

We have been using the clay under our automatic feeding
units and a 25 kg sack disappears within days of its introduction.
I am convinced that the fish pick the clay up whilst feeding
and also there is important ion exchange across the gills as
the fish disturb the clay whilst feeding.

In my opinion the clay helps with food digestion and also by
providing essential minerals and trace elements hence
promoting growth and fish health.

I would recommend anyone to try it and see the improvements in their stock.

Rock Salt

Carp naturally require minerals found within Rock Salt and they find it very attractive, almost irresistible at some times of the year.

It may be that the carp are able to mitigate osmotic loses via seeking out Rock Salt. It seems particularly effective in spring time when the fish may use it for physiological support and to help rid themselves of ecto parasites, such as leeches and fish lice, that have built up over the colder months.

One thing is clear carp find Rock Salt very attractive.

If using Rock Salt in your fishery for management or angling please use it sensibly. Too much salt can be detrimental to the aquatic ecosystem.

AJS Auto Feeders

These are the feeders we have been using for a number of years on our own fish farm. I think they are as good as you can get for a reason price.
The feeder units are totally automatic and will feed up to 6 times a day and comfortably throw a 6mm pellet 30 yards. These feeders have been very reliable and will help optimise feed conversation rates from pellet to fish weight.
The timer units have an internal battery that makes it easy to save feeding programs during use. These are stored in a bucket with the battery on a feeding stand to allow easy access to the timer.
The spinner heads have specially designed flaps to prevent wildfowl from stealing your expensive fish food and prevent loss of pellet during high winds.
